30 things to do this fall instead of being on your phone
Hello!
I’ve written a lot on here about how living seasonally has not only vastly improved my health, but it’s also maximized the amount of joy I’ve gotten from life.
Not only am I eating the food that is meant for my body that season, but it’s like each season is a story book you can step into. I make vision boards, build little themed meal menus, and shift my home to reflect the feeling of that time of year. It makes the year feel like a collection of chapters instead of just days passing by.
The only thing I highly recommend doing on your phone this fall, is to make yourself a vision board for this season! I have a whole deep dive on how I do it here, but I’ll be making an updated one for fall!
And beyond that, each season has unique things you can do to extract the most marrow from it, and that’s what this post will be!
30 things to do this fall instead of being on your phone
take a fall detox bath (aka a normal detox bath, but add some beeswax candles, and 1 tbsp of canned pumpkin, a few clove pods, and a splash of coconut milk)
Pick apples (type “u-pick” on google maps, you’ll be shocked at how many places to pick organic food there are near you! & bake something fun with it after.
bake sourdough chocolate chip cookies
host a fall dinner party
go thrifting for natural fiber cozy sweaters, like from wool or cotton!
learn to forage on a hike (there are actual professional foragers you can hire to teach you! I absolutely love to forage, and you get pure medicine from it. Just make sure you’re super careful!)
sign up for a pottery class, make a mug, and sip your lattes and teas in it this season.
read outside- bonus if you have a hot drink! (I try to do this daily for 30 minutes, after I journal outside)
bake a sourdough pie
Have a cozy night in: matching pajama set, baking, and make a pumpkin face mask:
the pumpkin face mask: 1/4 pumpkin, 1 tbsp of raw honey, apply for 20 min and rinse off.
make gelatin marshmellows, sourdough graham crackers, do a fire pit and roast some smores!!
Make a simmer pot that doubles as a healing tea after!
Bake cheddar green chile sourdough
Make a pumpkin body scrub (canned organic pumpkin, sugar, and EVOO)
Make soup!
Make bone broth from scratch
Do a fall deep clean on your entire house, then go buy a fall flower bouquet.
Make an essential oil perfume.
OR bake pumpkin cinnamon sourdough!
visit a local farm (my raw milk farm from new york, dutch meadows, used to host the best farm days every fall!)
Make candied pumpkin seeds with raw honey and butter. Raw pumpkin seeds were traditionally eaten this time of year to paralyze parasites in the gut. Having them candied is my favorite topping for figs + goat cheese!
Make butter from scratch
Make a giant pot of hot clove tea, lay in bed, and read a book until you fall asleep for a nice nap
paint your own watercolor fall menu! Of either recipes or things youd like to do this fall. I have all of my menus here.
Make apple sauce from scratch to have a side for your meals this week! Cooking apples was traditionally done this time of year to help carry out the toxins and parasites that cloves + pumpkin seeds help kill.
Buy candle sticks and beeswax candles for your home
Detox your closet (AKA donate old things you dont like that aren’t natural fibers)
Have a cozy movie night (I always wear ra optics glasses for this)
Make a fall themed DIY spa night
LMK yours- I can definitely add more ideas to this masterlist, and tag you as well!!
Also- if you want a deep dive of any of these, specific recipes, or have any questions, just let me know!

Oh such a good list!
It also reminds me of being little and collecting orange and red leaves from trees and pressing them in parchment paper to preserve them in my own little art scape for a placemat or something 🍂
